History

Since commencing operations in early 1990, Hewatt has been an industry leader for civil works in Canberra, ACT and the surrounding region. The company grew from a modest start with one grader on hourly hire, to a peak of over 165 plant and vehicles supporting up to 200 full-time employees in early 2014. Annual turnover of the company for the previous three years was between $45m to $100m.

Over the company's history, it has undertaken a broad range of civil projects, from rural residential subdivisions to multi-million dollar constructions of large buildings, dual carriageway highways, airports and alternate energy site establishments. While much of its work now relates to larger projects, Hewatt still undertakes many projects relating to rural and residential requirements as head contractor and major subcontractor.
