Barton Highway Duplication

Construction of 9km of dual carriageway highway on an existing single carriageway alignment carrying 10,000 vehicle movements per day.

Project elements include: Bulk earthworks and detailed trimming, including 200,000m3 of cut to fill.  Hewatt Earthworks developed haulage diagrams for the entire project to enable pre placement of materials into stockpiles prior to changing traffic movements.
      
Achievements: Design, construction and operation of a signalised scraper crossing across the Barton Highway, enabling movement of 90,000m3 of material.  This measure ensured both vehicle and plant safety with minimal disruption to traffic flow.
